News

August 3rd

A month has passed and it is about time that i update the website, I've had my time to be disappointed and now it is the time to start looking forward again, therefor the hansome father of Tiahs next litter is now official on the puppysite, go have a look.

In other aspects our life is going smooth and easy, I'm getting more and more used to my job at the animal hospital and the dogs are enjoying summer. In about 2 weeks training will start again, Tiahs will be working towards her fieldtrial-test and Aiah will start Agility again. I've signed Tiah up for an unofficial show and for the spanielclub show (GoldCup) and besides that I'm trying to arrange to go to the greek spanielclub show too, it would be a lovely comfort to get her last greek certificat, now that we had no puppies this time.

July 3rd

Sad news, Tiah has been scanned with ultrasound today and has had a bloodtest too and unfortunately she is not pregnant :( Her belly has grown a lot though so I was sure everything was ok and only wanted the veterinary to tell me how many approximately to expect, too bad it wasn't the number i had counted on.. Tiah will be mated again in her next heat, probably to another male to see if it is her that has a problem concieving. Hopefully we will have Otto-puppies sometime in the future.

June 23rd

Time for an update on Tiah. I'm very confident that she is pregnant her behavior has changed a lot and the belly has slowly started to grow. 5 weeks has passed now and only 4 to go. Within the next week we will hopefully begin to see her grow more obviously, but even a mother to be has the desire to get really dirty. I'll let the pictures from the dogforrest yesterday speak for themselves ;)

We are now in Sweden, and Tiah first mating today went really well, it was love at first sight. We are of course all very tired from the long drive but happy that we got here on a perfect time. Tomorrow and Tuesday they will be mated again and then we will head back to Denmark and start counting days for the puppies arrival. More detail update and pictures will come later.

Tiah finally got in heat so in a very short time we will go to sweden to visit Manaca's On The Road. We are of course very exited and if everything goes well we expect puppies in the end of July!!!

Spring Choice Dear Mrs. Tia        X      Manaca's On The Road

April 15th, 2008

Today we got the letter from The Danish Kennel Association. Our kennel name, Cantiah's, has been approved by FCI!!!! I'm very happy that we got our first choice in name. The name origins from Canis-Tiah. Canis means dog in latin and Tiah is the dog where it all began :)

Besides the name there's still no sign of heat, unfortunately, the only thing I have noticed is that she has started to pee a little more often but besides that there's no sign. I'm getting very impatient of course, since I have been looking forward for this litter for a long time, but I'll have to way for just a little more.

March 19th, 2008

Today we went to the vet to get Tiah eye scanned, result Clear. That was the last test and she is now completely ready for her mating. Now we just have to wait....

March 8th, 2008

It finally arrived today, not the answer i had hoped, Tiah is optigen B. I'm a little disappointed but she has so many other wonderful qualities. Fortunately Otto is optigen A so it won't affect the mating.

March 4th, 2008

Still awaiting the result of Tiahs optigentest. Hopefully they'll be there in the next few days.

February 15th, 2008

The result of the rabiestest has arrived and it was fine. Tiah is now ready to travel to Sweden to be mated to Manaca's On The Road. We are still awaiting the result of her optigentest.

February 6th, 2008

Much has happened since the last time i updated the site. I'm starting to feel that I have settled here in Denmark again and I think the dogs feel that too. I've startet a new job, just as a temporary solution until I hopefully soon can start my education. Dogtraining is running smoothly again, at the moment only with puppies and youngsters but in a few weeks I'll start 2 team of Rally-Obedience too. I hope to get the time to start that with Aiah too, to hopefully make her Rally-Champion soon.

3 weeks ago I finally applied for the kennel name Cantiah's, so now all theres left to do is to wait and wait and wait for about 4 months until I have the final result.

Today I took Tiah to the vet, she needed her vaccination renewed and to get taken blodsamples to check the immunity to rabies in her blood, a test needed to be allowed to enter Sweden for her mating. Besides that we took one more that has been sent to Germany to test her optigen (prcd-PRA) status. She can be either A (free) or B (carrier) by heritance, so luckely we dont have to worry about a C (affected) but we are anyways nervous because of course we hope that she is A. Also in this issue all there's keft to do is to wait for the result that should be here no longer than 2 weeks... so cross your fingers!!!!

December 31st, 2007

Finally, finally, finally!

On the last day of the year I finally found the time to update my website and it was needed, but a lot of things have changed since the last time.

The 7th of december we finally arrived back to denmark, a very windy, rainy experience, we almost regreted and took the first plane back to Athens were the sun had been shining from a blue sky when we had left just a few hours before. I barely made it in the door at home before I had catched the first big danish flu... I still got it...

The dogs clearly enjoying running loose on the fields again and getting big bones to chew on.

2 days after arriving home I started training my teams again, both puppies and youngsters, I have missed it a lot i realised :) Tiah has started her training too, just a little, we'll start fully after new years.

Now the planning of Tiahs first litter will start mopre seriously, the first thing is announcing here on the site the male who will father the first litter. See him under Puppies.

He's gorgeous and we are really looking forward to having a litter after him, not the least to keep one after two so wonderful dogs.

Finally I want to wish you all a delayed Merry Christmas and a Happy and dogfriendly New Years tonight!

Tiahs page updated with achievements and 4 generation pedigree!

New galleries of both dogs.

October 24th, 2007

We have decided not to participate in the last dogshow here in Athens the 4th of November. I feel it is too close to our departure back to Denmark and it will become too stressful. We have now finally decided that we will be back on danish land at dec 3rd in good time to settle before christmas :)

When we return Aiah will start obedience training and Tiah wil start training for her working test, we will most likely not make it to try her at a test due to her mating in the end of march. The little puppy we will keep will start puppytraining and training for the working test as soon as she gets old enough.

The weather here in Athens has gotten colder, all the way down to 20 degrees and both the dogs are sitting next to me shaking, I wonder how it will be for them to return to the cold north :)

October 10th, 2007

Finally our future kennelname has been revealed. It will be Cantiah's (canis-Tiah) because I would like it to refer to Tiah since she is the reason we started it all.

October 6th, 2007

First day of the double international show here in Athens are over and we "lost" to a finish champion by a whisker.Tiah got R.CAC and R.CACIB The judge believed Tiah was the best of the two but unfortunately I didn't handle her perfect when we were running and therefor she didn't look her best at movement. Hopefully we have now learned from our mistakes and will have a comeback tomorrow even though it is a different judge. Tiahs evaluation can be seen here!

September 30th, 2007

Returned from the spanielclubshow without the desired CAC, so no Greek-Champion this time. Tiah got a 1st price and then placed second. The judge belived she had too open frontmovement, everything else was good. Todays critic can be read here!

Hopefully next weekend at the double international show it will go better.

Congratulations to Emily and Lilly from kennel Venilil with the best openclass female of today :)

September 27th, 2007

Finally we got a few new pictures for the site. Right now our time is spent preparing for the spanielclubshow in the upcoming weekend, where we are hoping to get the last certificat for Tiahs Greek-Champion title.

More pictures will come as soon as i finish editing them.

September 10th, 2007

Home again from Crete. It went very well and after a long day we could bring home good results. Best of Breed, 3. winner of group, CAC and CACIB, so we are pleased. Tiah was very tired after a long day in nice company of lots of new dogfriends. Pictures will be on the site later today or tomorrow. Her evaluation can be seen here.

August 31st, 2007

Tiah has gotten her trim and is now almost ready for the dogshow on Crete new weekend, september 9th. I love it when she is trimmed she looks so cute i think. Now we just hope she looks pretty enough to bring home good results too :)

August 26th, 2007

Unfortunately we are experiencing a lot of forestfires here in Greece these days, and it has been very scary to witness. Today one was stoppet before it got out of control very close to where I live. Yesterday big areas of forest close by burned.

Besides the terrible fires I spend a nice day yesterday with Emily from kennel Venilil, where I went to see their 4 week old puppies. They were of course wonderful and should anyone be interested  I know there are still available puppies.     www.venililcockers.com

August 24th, 2007

I have now announced the future father of Tiahs first litter, have a look at the puppysite.

August 22nd, 2007

I have finally decided on a name for my kennel!!! And I'm very exited about if it will be approved of, from FCI. Chekking on their website there is no other kennelname close to it so I think it will be ok for sure. The name will be revieled here on the website as soon as I send the application. I have decided to keep it a secret until then, just in case someone else would see it and decide to apply the same before I do, but it is very difficult not to tell :)

August 10th, 2007

We have now signed up for the dogshow on Crete in a month (09.09.2007) and for the greek spanielclubshow the weekend after, and we are very much looking forward to hopefully achieve more good results.
